My Favourite Glen Powell Films of All-Time

Not many actors in Hollywood are as successful as Glen Powell. Since the 2000’s, Powell has become a beloved American icon. Whether it’s soaring top gun aviators, rebellious teenagers or tornado chasers, Powell has portrayed several strong characters. Given the sheer number of movies he has made, making a top 10 list isn’t easy. Nevertheless, listed below are my favourite films made by an actor that deserves to be celebrated.

1. Hit Man

Con-artists are cunning figures that can destroy families. Years ago, my family faced grief when we found out dire news that our beloved housekeeper was a thief. I remember a caring housekeeper that had often treated my family nicely in a generous manner. Dedicated to doing every chore, he was a person that my family would adore. However, appearances can be deceiving. My grandparents were shocked when they found that the housekeeper they had trusted fully had stolen jewelry. Few films I’ve ever seen have captured how con-artists with a plan can destroy the lives of people as powerfully as “Hit Man”. Released in 2023, Glen Powell’s best movie captured the life of a con-artist facing adversity. In the greatest role of his career, the actor portrayed a hitman assassin that commits crimes causing despair. This is the actor unlike you’ve ever seen him before: intense, charismatic and emotional in his most memorable role. Powell has spent most of his career playing likeable heroes with bright personalities. With “Hit Man”, however, the actor took a huge step out of his comfort zone by playing a con-artist that’s alone. Working alongside alongside Adria Arjona who is also outstanding, Powell created a con-artist comedy that’s captivating. “Top Gun” is a classic film about aviation that always earned my grandfather’s appreciation. I remember my grandfather adored a classic movie about dark aviators facing grave danger. He grew up to adore a movie about aviators that fly fast planes with the abilities to soar. In 2022, Glen Powell honoured the iconic film about soaring aviators in his movie “Top Gun: Maverick”. In the most adventurous role of his career, Powell portrayed an aviator that pilots planes soaring in the air. Few filmmakers in Hollywood have made movies audiences treasure like Richard Linklater. With their realistic themes, strong storytelling and powerful acting, Linklater’s movies have earned a huge following.
