My Favourite Michael B. Jordan Films of All-Time

Not many actors in Hollywood have earned appreciation of Michael B. Jordan. Since the 1990’s, Jordan has become a beloved icon. Whether it’s powerful boxers, fierce warriors or twin brothers, Jordan has portrayed several strong characters. Given the sheer number of movies he has made, making a top 10 list isn’t easy. Nevertheless, listed below are my favourite films made by an actor that deserves to be celebrated.

1. Sinners

Brothers are powerful figures that shape families’ futures. During my childhood, I formed bonds with a brother that loved playing soccer in the neighbourhood. Born to be an athlete, his powerful feet would often lead teams to victories rather than defeat. Adopting a powerful creed, he was determined to achieve victories in a game where he was guaranteed to succeed. Through his love for playing soccer, my brother inspired me to make my film criticism dreams come true. Few films I’ve ever seen have captured the roles brothers play in families as powerfully as “Sinners”. Released in 2025, Michael B. Jordan’s best movie captured bonds between twin brothers. In the greatest role of his career, Jordan portrayed a pair of two brothers facing despair. This is the actor unlike you’ve ever seen him before: intense, charismatic and emotional in his most memorable role. Jordan has spent most of his career playing likeable heroes with sympathetic personalities. With “Sinners”, however, the actor took a huge step out of his comfort zone by playing twin brothers. It’s a tricky dual role that required the actor to play two characters at once but he succeeded tremendously. For instance, the scene in which Smoke becomes aware that his juke joint is being attacked by vampires causing despair is one of the finest moments of the actor’s career. Ultimately, what makes “Sinners” Michael B. Jordan’s best movie is its message. It delivers a profound message about racism which would resonate with everyone. A captivating portrait of trauma causing bonds of brothers to deteriorate, it’s a riveting reminder of an actor that has manufactured great movies which audiences appreciate.
