She would always marvel at the way ballet dancers performed dances she treasured in every way. Fond of dancing, she would always love discussing professions that she found inspiring. Few films I’ve ever seen have captured tensions faced by ballet dancers seeking to be a swan as powerfully as “Black Swan”. Ultimately, what makes “Black Swan” Natalie Portman’s best movie is its universal appeal. Unlike most movies about ballet, it tackles strong themes everyone would relate to. Viewers aren’t required to be fans of ballet dancing to appreciate it. It delivers a meaningful message about determination which would resonate with everyone. Nearly 25 years following the release of a groundbreaking film about ballet dancers with frightening mental health problems experiencing a painful price to pay, it’s a riveting reminder of a commemorated actress that has manufactured unforgettable movies throughout her career that deserve to be celebrated today.
