He would always enjoy watching marvellous movies about a bold superhero team that got him hooked on a feeling shaping his identity. In 2014, Chris Pratt honoured the iconic guardians defending galaxies in his movie “Guardians of the Galaxy”. In the greatest role of his career, Pratt embodies a heroic space scavenger that’s forced to work with a team of misfits causing despair. This is the actor unlike you’ve ever seen him before: intense, charismatic and funny in his most memorable role. Pratt has always been one of those actors with a sharp sense of humour, and his comedic talents are clearly evident in “Guardians of the Galaxy”. Working alongside Bradley Cooper who is also amazing, Pratt honoured a legendary superhero team. As Star-Lord, the actor did an exceptional job of portraying an iconic character. For instance, the scene in which Star-Lord delivers an emotional speech seeking to prepare the Guardians for warfare is one of the greatest moments of the actor’s career. Unlike most Marvel movies targeted solely towards comic-book fans, it tackles strong themes that everyone would relate to. It delivers a meaningful message about the importance of teamwork which would resonate with everyone. Nearly 10 years following the release of a classic comic-book movie about a group of misfit Guardians seeking to defend a galaxy, it’s a bold reminder of an actor that created a lasting legacy making memorable movies which audiences love dearly.

Technology has always been a pivotal part of my identity. As far as I can remember, I’ve always been a heavy technology user. In an attempt to feel less alone, I’ve often turned towards using my phone. My strong addiction to technology is fuelled by a desire for human connection I can’t find in reality.  Few films I’ve ever seen have captured the danger of technology addiction as powerfully as “Her”. Released in 2013, Chris Pratt’s movie captured technology addiction causing catastrophe. In the most eccentric role of his career, Pratt embodies a heavy technology user that falls in love with an operating system causing despair. With “Her”, the actor showcased a sensitive side that audiences hadn’t seen before. Working alongside Joaquin Phoenix who is also amazing, Pratt created a portrait of technology addiction that’s compelling. For instance, the scene in which Paul expresses amusement when he becomes aware that Theodore is having an affair with his operating system is one of the finest moments of the actor’s career. Ultimately, what makes “Her” a masterpiece is its message. The film delivers a meaningful message about technology addiction which would resonate with everyone. Dinosaurs are terrifying creatures causing disaster that always fascinated my grandfather. At an early age, my grandfather was fascinated with dinosaurs causing damage. My grandfather always loved the Jurassic Park franchise about dinosaurs with a bright spark which left a lasting mark. In 2015, Chris Pratt honoured the world-famous franchise about dinosaurs in his movie “Jurassic World”. In the most heroic role of his career, Pratt embodies a caretaker seeking to save a theme park from dinosaurs causing despair. It gave the actor an opportunity to showcase his strengths for playing heroic characters. Working alongside Bryce Dallas Howard who is also amazing, Pratt honoured a franchise about dinosaurs that are frightening. Ultimately, what makes “Jurassic World” a great blockbuster is its perfect balance. It manages to strike a fine balance between storytelling and spectacle lacking from most movies in the Jurassic Park franchise. The Avengers is a spectacular superhero team that shaped my friend’s identity. I remember a friend that was obsessed with the iconic superhero team in pop culture. A huge comic-book nerd, he would always speak fondly about a team that made him feel heard. He would love watching marvellous movies about a team saving the world from catastrophe. In 2018, Chris Pratt honoured the team facing a war in his movie “Avengers: Infinity War”. In the most tragic role of his career, Pratt embodies a hero seeking to save the world from an infinity war causing despair. Pratt has always excelled at playing Star-Lord throughout the MCU’s trajectory of movies. With “Avengers: Infinity War”, however, the actor brought vulnerability to the hero that audiences hadn’t seen before. For instance, the scene in which Star-Lord has a confrontation with Thor causing despair is one of the finest moments of the actor’s career. Ultimately, what makes “Avengers: Infinity War” a comic-book classic is its message. The film delivers a meaningful message about death which would resonate with everyone. As strong as the Avengers’ desire to defeat Thanos, it’s a powerful reminder of a fantastic actor that has made memorable movies which audiences consider precious.

5. Moneyball

Baseball is a fascinating game that I was once fond of playing. I recall memories of my love for playing baseball. During my childhood, I enjoyed playing the game with friends in my neighbourhood. I remember joining my school’s baseball team seeking to be a sports player. As someone treasuring baseball, I adored “Moneyball’. Released in 2011, Chris Pratt’s movie offered a beautiful adaptation of a book about baseball. In the most athletic role of his career, Pratt embodied a baseball player seeking to prepare for a game that’s a heavy burden to bear. It’s a physically demanding role that required the actor to lose significant weight, but he succeeded tremendously. Working alongside Brad Pitt who is also amazing, Pratt created a baseball player that’s compelling. For instance, the scene in which Scott is recruited by Billy Beane to play for his baseball team overcoming fear is one of the finest moments of the actor’s career. Ultimately, what makes “Moneyball” a sports classic is its universal appeal. Viewers don’t need to be fans of baseball to appreciate it. In the most political role of his career, Pratt embodies a Navy SEAL participating in the hunt for a terrorist causing despair. It’s a role that gave the actor a chance to step out of his comfort zone by tackling sensitive subject matter. Working alongside Jessica Chastain who is also amazing, Pratt created a portrait of terrorism that’s compelling. Nearly 15 years after Osama Bin Laden was hunted down for terrifying terrorist acts he committed, it’s a strong reminder about an actor whose timeless movies deserve to be appreciated.

Chris Pratt is one of those actors that has always excelled at playing heroic characters. Pratt has built an image of being an actor that thrives at playing sci-fi heroes with courage. Pratt’s strength for playing heroic characters overcoming barriers is clearly evident in his movie “Passengers”. Released in 2016, Morten Tyldum’s sci-fi movie showcased the actor at his best. In the most romantic role of his career, Pratt embodies a space scavenger that falls in love in a doomed affair. It’s a role that gave the actor a chance to showcase a romantic side to himself audiences hadn’t seen before. When it comes to the greatest westerns ever made earning appreciation, it’s worth discussing The Magnificent Seven. Since its release in 1960, John Sturges’ movie has become a western classic. Unfortunately, “Jurassic World: Dominion” falls into the latter category. Released in 2022, Colin Trevorrow’s blockbuster was a disaster. In the most shallow role of his career, Pratt embodies a caretaker seeking to prevent a dinosaur invasion causing despair. Pratt brought his usual charisma to the role of Owen, stand out as the bright spot of a bad movie. Although “Jurassic World: Dominion” is a disastrous movie, it honoured Pratt’s enduring legacy. As precious as the Jurassic World theme park, it’s a riveting reminder of an actor with a bright spark whose memorable movies I will forever treasure for inspiring my lifelong love for filmmaking leaving a lasting mark.
